🎒 For the Kids Who Had to Grow Up in Lockdown

🎒 For the Kids Who Had to Grow Up in Lockdown

This one’s for the big kids.

Not the babies — but the ones who remember.

The ones who were already in school, already making friends, already finding their rhythm…
and then suddenly, everything stopped.

No more recess.
No more birthday parties.
No more classroom laughs or hallway whispers.

Just a screen.
A schedule.
And a whole lot of confusion.

Let’s be real — our older kids lost something big, and a lot of people didn’t even notice.
They were expected to be “resilient,” to “adjust,” to “go with the flow.”

But I saw the shift.
I saw the light in their eyes dim a little.
I saw them get quieter. Or angrier. Or just plain tired.

Some of them lost confidence.
Some struggled to keep up.
Some still haven’t bounced back socially — and honestly, that’s okay.

Because the truth is: they were asked to carry a lot.
And they did.

They learned to unmute and mute.
To turn cameras on and off.
To celebrate birthdays over Zoom.
To finish assignments while missing the comfort of being seen.

👉🏽 They may not have been born during the pandemic… but they lived through it. Grew through it. Changed because of it.
And that makes them pandemic babies too.

So this post is for them — the middle schoolers, the elementary kids, even the high schoolers who lost their dances, their teams, their in-between moments.

You were never behind.
You were surviving.
You were doing your best.
And we see you.

💬 If you’ve got one of these big kids — drop a heart in the comments for them. They may not say much, but they feel everything.
